What is it about?
Aquaculture faces many challenges – from climate change to overfishing. Technology helps, but often ignores the local knowledge of people working in the field. This study shows that intuition – our gut feeling – plays a key role when making decisions under uncertainty. Intuition taps into hidden knowledge and can lead to more sustainable and resilient choices.

Why is it important?
Relying only on data and machines means missing out on valuable human insight. In aquaculture, where nature, people, and technology interact closely, intuition can guide better decisions. The study explores how new tools like AI can support intuition and calls for more attention and research into this powerful human ability.
