Why is it important?
Using the model of Leadership-Focused Coaching for improvement, this program conducted a self-study aligned to the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (2015). In determining areas for improvement, an action plan was developed and implemented over a two-year period. This paper describes the actions taken during that time. The overall program-level goals were to prepare leadership candidates more effectively, strengthen partnership with local districts, and improve the curriculum of the courses. Finally, all courses were aligned to state-level standards, as well as PSEL, ISTE, CAEP, and NELP standards.
