What is it about?
What is the role of the religious community in the formation of personal faith? At first, William of Auxerre (d. 1231) appears to be a radical individualist: faith is purely a matter between the individual and God. Does that mean we can do without the Bible or the Church? Actually, William argues that you need the community of faith in order to shape your individual relationship with God.
