Why is it important?

It is useful in river health assessments and environmental flow assessments for management of aquatic ecosystems and water resources. It is cost also a cost effective method.

Perspectives

This is a very useful tool for for Tanzania as it is the first validated protocol for use in aquatic ecosystem management in Tanzania. It gives a robust step towards ecosystem based management approaches in the water resources aspect.
