What is it about?

It takes substantially time to calculate the layer’s thickness and cost in both of flexible and rigid pavements. These calculations can be easily made through a simple equation with the correlation and regression analyses. As its result, the pavement thickness and the pavement cost calculations have been solved with very simple method with the linear equation which has been obtained with this study on the basis of 8.2 tons equivalent single-axle load recurrence number (W8.2) which has been calculated with the conventional long mathematical operations. In this study, the pavement thickness in the construction of road pavement and the pavement cost for 1 km road have been found with the least squares method as their correlation and regression analyses have been made , according to 8.2 tons equivalent single-axle load recurrence number with the use of MATLAB program. As the study’s result, the formulas which have calculated the most suitable pavement thickness and the cost for manufacturing 1 km road pavement which can be made on the basis of 8.2 tons equivalent single-axle load recurrence number have been obtained. When the new formulas which have been found with MATLAB and the results which have been calculated classically are compared; it has been seen that the results are too close to each other. The pavement’s thickness and the pavement’s costs can be practically calculated approximately with the formulas which have been obtained.
