What is it about?

This study examines the extent of discrimination against women in the accounting/audit profession in Lebanon. The results showed that there was indeed a significant degree of discrimination leading up to a distinct glass-ceiling which prevented women professionals from upward mobility in this profession within this context.

The findings of this study are important because they shed the light on a problematic area plaguing the workplace particularly in the Accounting/Audit profession.

Perspectives

Firms in this profession would do well to revisit their HRM policies and take corrective measures that would minimize the negative impact of discrimination.
