What is it about?
Action research was used including quantitative research to help the research achieve the stated objectives. The sample size is 45 which was made up of 30 male students, 10 female students, and 5 accounting teachers. The problem under study used classroom tests, questionnaires, observation, and interviews as data collection instruments. Findings revealed that, for effective teaching and learning of the double-entry principle, the Group method is the best way for teaching. Teachers and students agreed that the use of group learning methods during teaching and learning will help improve the academic performance of the pupils. Students develop an interest in learning Accounting during the group learning method. The findings indicated that the use of group learning methods and to enhance teaching and learning will motivate students to learn Accounting and improve their academic performance by providing high classroom participation, a deeper understanding of concepts, and equip them with knowledge and skills.

Why is it important?
It is clear that the students know the use of each subsidiary book and their source documents. Therefore, this study was designed to correct student's mistakes in applying for the double entry in the recording of business transactions. The study sort to find out how group learning techniques can assist students' academic performance in the application of the double entry principle. Again, to identify how the whole group method of teaching can be used to enhance students' academic performance in applying the double-entry principle. And lastly, to determine the extent to which the small group method of teaching can help improve students' performance in applying the double-entry principle.
Perspectives
This is a novel area where many researchers have not put attention and it is good to read. I hope this article makes what people might think is a boring, slightly abstract area like double-entry principle in accounting, kind of interesting and maybe even exciting. Because the way we teach double-entry principle to students is becoming a problem on how to apply it. More than anything else, and if nothing else, I hope you find this article thought-provoking.
