What is it about?
The design of an effective and efficient reactor or batch facility can best be achieved with information about the kinetic parameters at very high industrial concentrations of the substrate. A good prototype, let alone the ultimate industrial setting, is contingent upon useful information regarding the generated kinetic parameters such as the Michaelis-Menten constant, specificity constant, etc.

Why is it important?
The model can facilitate the optimization of the production goal in that adequate input of substrate concentrations suitable for a given concentration of the enzyme on an industrial scale is pursued from the beginning.
Perspectives
One can "migrate" from an assay at a much lower concentration of the substrate to a higher substrate concentration.
