What is it about?
This journal reviews the integration of ChatGPT technology into Mandarin writing classes for second-year high school language students. The aim of the research is to examine the impact of using ChatGPT on improving students' Mandarin writing skills. The study employs a quasi-experimental method to investigate whether ChatGPT usage enhances students' Mandarin writing abilities. The data sources for this research are the results from pre-tests and post-tests. The study found a significant improvement in each student's scores in Mandarin writing classes after they repeatedly practiced writing and memorizing 汉字 (Hànzì) characters. While ChatGPT technology can improve students' foreign language skills, teachers must guide their students to use this tool wisely.
