What is it about?

This publication is the result of research that has been carried out at the location of several springs and hot springs around Slamet Volcano in Indonesia. The origin of the geothermal water in the research locations was identified from the local isotopic characteristics of the geothermal water and meteoric water (deuterium and oxygen-18). In addition, the origin of geothermal water was also identified from different types of water, geo-indicators and geothermal water geothermometers in several locations.

Why is it important?

This study aims to obtain information on the origin of hot springs water at the research site. This information is important to know for the management of the locations of origin of the water supplying the hot springs in order to remain sustainable. In addition, these locations have become people's economic centers in the form of hot spring tours and a geothermal power plant will be established.

Perspectives

In my opinion, this research is quite interesting because there is some new information that can be obtained in addition to information from previous research regarding the geochemistry of water and geothermal water. This research is useful for the management of water resources and geothermal energy in these locations
