What is it about?

Evaluating the measurement properties of the clinical assessment and scoring of visually assessment of postural orientation, the ability to align different body segments in relation to each other, during the performance of functional tasks in patients with a knee injury.

Why is it important?

Patients with knee injury, specifically an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, has an increased risk of sustaining a second injury if displaying poor postural orientation, e.g., increased knee abduction angle. This test battery is feasible and easy to administer in the clinical setting and in research to address Postural Orienation Errors (POEs) in people with ACL injury. It can be used as an assessment tool to supplement other commonly used measures of muscle function, such as hop performance and muscle strength.
