What is it about?

Following ACL reconstructive surgery deficits in knee dynamics are similar in both running and a lower demanding single limb task. These findings suggest an inability or reluctance to accommodate forces at the knee at the time of running progression and could potentially be addressed earlier on in rehabilitation using the lower demanding single limb task.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that during dynamic tasks there are deficits in dynamics that need to be addressed in rehabilitation protocols following ACL reconstruction. Addressing dynamics and the speed of tasks in rehabilitation may help reduce the likelihood of re-injury and lead to more success in returning to play in this patient population.
