What is it about?
It is a review on Dictionary of Tourism written by Spanish geographers. Un diccionario es un instrumento básico para asentar el conocimiento científico. Su elaboración no es nada fácil. Se requiere de una enorme capacidad de síntesis y de una gran claridad pedagógica, lo que supone un esfuerzo intelectual inmenso. Por este solo motivo ya hay que agradecer a sus autores todo el tiempo que le han dedicado y que, a tenor del resultado, ha sido mucho. Quiero comenzar subrayando que me ha llamado la atención, muy positivamente, el elemento que considero más distintivo de este diccionario: todos los autores se hacen responsables de todo el contenido. El consenso es lo que ha primado en su elaboración y prueba la calidad científica del texto: hay entradas que han tenido hasta tres y cuatro versiones.

Why is it important?
It is a very useful dictionary and my review stresses some ideas about the analysis of tourism as a context rather than as an industry
Perspectives
I think it is most important and an advance in setting some important notions and concept on tourism. Besides it has been written by a group of research scholar on geography who have agreed on the content of the notions and concepts included in the dictionary.
