What is it about?

Communication networks, especially those used in unstable environments like in space or emergency situations, can operate unpredictably. This paper demonstrates a real-time adaptation algorithm for a specific communication network type, to be able to “repair” the network at any time.

Why is it important?

It becomes tricky to optimize, and even ensure normal operation of communication networks, which may be detrimental to activities that require nominal communication between nodes in the network. The paper provides useful analysis for designers who are developing networks in unstable environments and a method for improving these networks, potentially enabling more complex system behaviors.
