What is it about?
This paper investigates the design methodology for a multi-element, active-aero front wing for a Formula SAE racecar using Optimum Lap to narrow high-level wing design decisions as well as STAR-CCM+ to simulate multi-element airfoils in 2D and to employ a multi-parameter optimization algorithm to improve the downforce, drag, and efficiency performance.
