What is it about?

This paper investigates the maximum model size the AFOSR Notre Dame Large Mach 6 Quiet Tunnel can handle while still operating properly. A blunt model design inspired by the Mars Pathfinder Probe entry capsule was used to mimic a "worse case scenario". Stagnation pressures and background oriented schlieren were used to evaluate the tunnel starting mechanics. Under certain tunnel conditions, exceptionally long tunnel run times were observed.
