What is it about?

We use a novel metadata scheme (the Unified Modeling a Characteristics for Engineering Simulation) to describe models involved in a digital twin of a small drone. We use Large Language Models to make the process of describing these models faster and more complete. To see how the system and it's digital artifacts work together, we visualize the models and data in a graph and explore how this idea can be used to exchange models more effectively.

Why is it important?

"Digital engineering" is using computation to perform engineering tasks in new ways. The value promise is added speed and quality in design, but with a digital focus comes the generation of many additional digital artifacts. Finding ways to exchange a large volume of engineering work and make it work together is an essential challenge of this shift in how we do engineering.
