What is it about?
Based on defined design criteria a conceptual scaled city map was developed as basis for a construction of a scaled urban environment at the “National Experimental Test Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems” in Cochestedt (Germany). The general idea is for it to be open for every potential stakeholder from industry or academia.

Why is it important?
Due to regulatory barriers, and a missing representative urban environment for UAS flights tests in Europe the German Aerospace Center plans to set-up a model city for investigations on UAM operations in an urban model environment.
