What is it about?
A GPU accelerated pseudo-spectral scheme was developed, tested and implemented to the already existing compressible Navier Stokes solver. The GPU accelerated code is used to perform a highly resolved calculation related to hypersonic transition.

Why is it important?
Laminar turbulent transition is a computationally expensive task, because all the relevant length and time scales have to be resolved accurately. GPU acceleration is a mean to reduce the turn around time for these calculations.
Perspectives
Working on the specific project was an interesting as well as challenging task because it combines both the understanding of hardware and physics related topics.
