What is it about?
The impacts on the airplanes cause barely visible damage (BVID) and clearly visible impact damage (CVID) on the aircraft, which is usually hard and time-consuming to detect. An acoustic emission system with a combination of the artificial neural network is used for detection and localization of impact events. A single sensor and a compacted data acquisition system were designed for the aircraft application.

Why is it important?
This system would reduce the time and cost of damage detection for the aerospace movables.
