What is it about?
Designing the orbital and transfer trajectories for NASA's Exploration Mission 1.

Why is it important?
This describes Exploration Mission 1's destination orbit (Distant Retrograde Orbit) and how we model it. It also explains the mission profile and trajectory design of the mission from Earth Orbit Insertion to Earth Entry Interface.
Perspectives
I hope this paper sheds some light on the trajectory design work that we do here at NASA's Johnson Space Center. This work has been on-going for many years, so hopefully this will be the start of many more papers that will shed more light on the kinds of trajectory design trade studies that we've performed for Exploration Mission 1.
