What is it about?
This paper describes the meshing process within ANSA and an analysis of the unstructured grids produced for the 1st AIAA Geometry and Meshing Workshop and 3rd AIAA High-Lift Workshop. Particular focus is made on the process of generating suitable grids for various CFD codes including OpenFOAM.

Why is it important?
ANSA high-quality meshes allow the use of OpenFOAM for aerospace applications. OpenFOAM showed CFD results very close to StarCCM using the same ANSA meshes.
Perspectives
It was a great pleasure to work with Dr. Neil Ashton from Oxford University. We managed to demonstrate for the first to my knowledge time the use of OpenFOAM for High Lift Aerospace application.
