What is it about?

Jet noise is one of the loudest components during take-off of commercial and military aircrafts. The present paper shows the analysis of a noise reduction design that does not affect the performance of the aircraft during flight. Numerical simulations such RANS and LES are performed to analyze what are the mechanisms introduced by injecting air inside the nozzle that help reduce the noise emitted.
