Rapid Tradespace Exploration through Surrogate Models

What is it about?

This was a prototype effort to use plug-and-play modular models, to shorten the time needed to run through a design of experiments on the use case. In this prototype the use case was applying on demand mobility to thin haul networks. The foundational work to establish a library of models and structure framework accelerates selection of models in future efforts.

Why is it important?

This prototype was inspired by the SMART-NAS Test Bed concepts and the models used are meant to be components of the future SMART NAS Test Bed. We show plug-and-play can produce very rapid and reasonable results in a design of experiments. The resulting tradespace maps the outcome space.
