What is it about?

UAS and UGVs each have much potential for aiding in the rescue of trapped miners. By teaming these assets, it is possible to take advantage of the best characteristics of each.

Why is it important?

Using UAS/UGV paired operations can significantly decrease the time required to locate and extract trapped miners. In addition, this capability can greatly reduce both the unknowns of the environment, and the overall exposure time to the mine rescue team (MRT).
