What is it about?
We summarize laboratory experiments to study robotic capture of derelict spacecraft or spent boosters. The setup includes novel GNC, robotic ststems, capture mechanism and realistic means to emulate contact dynamics.

Perspectives
LASR is a multimillion dollar lab I developed over the past few yrs with support from AFRL, AFOSR, NASA, NRO and others. Novel robotic systems allow 6dof close proximity motion emulation driven by high fidelity models. It allows hardware in the loop on board sensors (IMU, 3D cameras, lidar/ladar, ...), capture mechanisms, programmable GNC algorithms, and independent sensing for V&V. The goal is to enable high fidelity technology validation, maturation, and risk reduction for future mission concepts.
