What is it about?

Early in the project, a modeling activity produced initial estimates for benefits achievable from TASAR, NASA's concept for in-flight route optimization using cockpit technology. The report provides results of this analysis.

Why is it important?

The initial estimate of benefits produced early in the project showed that all aircraft operators can benefit from TASAR, with larger benefits going to the longer flights. By the end of the project, the benefits had been validated with an operational evaluation of TASAR by Alaska Airlines in revenue service.
