Uncertainty Quantification and Sensitivity Analysis of Ice Giant Aerocapture Aerothermodynamics

What is it about?

This work determines the uncertainty in aerodynamic heating distributions on vehicles performing aerocapture in an atmosphere composed of hydrogen, helium, and methane. A sensitivity analysis is performed to determine which parameters contribute most to the uncertainty in each quantity of interest.
