What is it about?
This research develops a method to predict how rocket propellant liquids mix under different pressure conditions, both below and above the vapor pressure. Our experiments revealed that extremely low pressures cause rapid vaporization (flashing) that greatly reduces mixing. The developed model enables engineers to design more reliable spacecraft propulsion systems by accurately predicting mixing behavior across these different pressure regimes.
