What is it about?

This research is about controlling the noise produced by supersonic jets. To do this, we used a simplified model to figure out the best way to manipulate the jet's flow. We found that by adding small disturbances to the jet at a specific frequency and pattern, they could significantly reduce the noise it produced. These findings were then tested using a more detailed numerical simulation and showed that significant noise reduction was indeed achieved. This research aims to help develop quieter and more efficient jet engines.
