What is it about?
An energy method and a novel indicator are utilized to investigate a cantilever support rotor, commonly employed in high-speed rotor systems for aero-engines, under the influence of crack faults. Starting with the essence of structural vibration to study the rotor system can reveal the impact of fault on the rotor system. Our findings present a novel approach for further investigating the impact of faults on rotor systems, unveiling the internal factors behind various abnormal rotor operations caused by crack faults from an energy perspective. This advancement is particularly crucial for the design and fault diagnosis of high-end equipment such as aero-engines or gas turbines, where exploring the failure mechanism holds utmost significance.
