What is it about?
Reaction rates and equilibrium constants are developed for air (nitrogen, oxygen, nitrogen oxide) interacting with a titanium surface at conditions relevant to hypersonic flight. These rates are needed for new finite-rate boundary conditions which are more realistic than currently used approaches that assume either a non-reacting or fully-reacting surface.
