What is it about?

Small wind turbines and drone propellers experience very strong force fluctuations in certain unsteady wind conditions which can reduce performance and damage the blades. Computer simulations of this process can help to design better blades. We found that capturing the motion and bursting of a small bubble at the front of the blade is required to accurately simulate this process.
