What is it about?

Hypersonic flight (travelling much faster than the speed of sound) is challenging because the air heats up and can damage vehicles. Ground facilities, like the T5, are used to generate hypersonic conditions on the ground in order to learn more about these conditions. In this work, we study the hypersonic conditions in T5 around a simple cylinder model, and study the temperatures and gas compositions.
