Modeling Challenges and Limitation Principles of Reissner’s Mixed Approaches to Laminates

What is it about?

For the first time in the literature it is shown that 2 widely used approaches for the analysis of composites (Hellinger-Reissner and Reissner's mixed Variational Theorem) provide under certain conditions identical results and also have non-physical oscillations of the values for the displacements and stresses. Remedies are proposed and investigated.
