What is it about?
The flame lifting behavior of turbulent non-premixed coaxial jet flames was studied as a function of jet Reynolds number and velocity ratio, with and without standing transverse acoustic waves at a pressure antinode, for a range of acoustic frequencies and amplitudes. Explanations of the observed trends are offered based on observations of the large-scale dynamics near the leading edge of the flames.
