What is it about?
Increased usage of electrothermal de-icing systems for ice removal from airplane wings, drones, and wind turbines requires higher energy efficiency and ice shedding predictability. We show the different ice shedding mechanisms and develop and test an easy-to-use model to predict the ice removal time in function of a few input parameters.
