Large Deformation Shape Sensing Using a Nonlinear Strain to Displacement Method

What is it about?

This aper presents a novel framework for the measurement of large deformation of wings in flight by using strain data. The method is based on data obtained from a finite element model or a preliminary ground vibration test. The method is demonstrated both numerically and experimentally and is shown to be precise and robust.
