Influence of Roughness Trips on Near- and Far-Field Trailing-Edge Noise

What is it about?

Noise radiated from airplanes and wind turbines is a source of annoyance for people that live in areas close to airports and wind farms. We show that the noise measured during wind tunnel tests for these applications can increase depending on the test setup used to measure the noise generated by the wing model.
