What is it about?

The formation of a crater due to a jet impinging on a soil is simulated. It is shown that the shape of the formed craters, and the magnitude and spread of the soil ejecta formed during cratering are functions of the ratio between the density of the fluid in the jet and the density of the ambient fluid.
