Potential Amplification Mechanism of Rotor–Stator-Interaction Noise via Spiral-Poiseuille-Flow Instability

What is it about?

We claim two instability modes near the outer wall between a rotor and a stator in turbomachinery by comparing linear stability analysis and post-processed results of CFD/CAA solving NASA’s SDT fan rig, and discuss their possible contributions to fan broadband noise.
