What is it about?

A theoretical-numerical study of noise scattered by moving bodies is presented. While several reliable formulations for noise scattered by bodies in the absence of relative motion with the fluid are available, the development of formulations suitable for predicting sound scattered by moving bodies is still of interest for the research community. Specifically, boundary and boundary-field integral formulations are outlined and compared, to assess their capability to predict the effects of nonuniform mean flow generated by the scatterer, with numerical investingations concerning a nonlifting wing in uniform translation.
