Estimation of Inflow Uncertainties in Laminar Hypersonic Double-Cone Experiments

What is it about?

This paper described a method by which one can check the correctness of an experimental dataset. Most such datasets consist of direct measurements as well data that is calculated under assumptions. Sometimes, especially when the experimental apparatus is used at the edge of its operational envelope, these assumptions may not hold true and the data calculated under those assumptions may be inconsistent with the measurements. The method described in this paper can be used to identify those inconsistencies. The method is couched in terms of statistical inference and model testing.
