What is it about?

The application of load alleviation capabilites on aircrafts, for example by the right usage of control surfaces, has a great potential for enabling weight savings (and thereby reduced fuel consumption) and increasing passenger comfort. However, the computational prediction of the aerodynamic responses for the control surfaces are very time-consuming using the conventional time-marching methods. We developed a new method, which is able to achieve the same prediciton accuracy within a mere fraction of the time using the advantages of the linear-frequency-domain.
