What is it about?

Airplane wings may encounter dangerous uncontrolled vibration due to interaction with the flow, a phenomena called flutter, under certain flight conditions. This paper propose and test a fast and accurate method for the prediction of such undesirable conditions based on a linearized Euler method in the frequency domain. It is found that the method is faster than and as accurate as a coupled fluid/structure simulation method in the time domain.
