What is it about?
For turboprop aircraft, the propeller does not only generate thrust, but also induces angular motion of the air which is a loss of energy. However, we show that this energy that is lost into propeller slipstream can be utilized by the downstream wing to reduce the drag of the wing, or by a set of stationary blades behind the propeller to produce extra thrust, both of which will help increase the propulsive efficiency of the propulsion system.
