What is it about?

Space vehicles are subjected to large vibration when passing through the atmosphere. The origin is the pressure fluctuations created by the air motion. We have measured wavenumber-frequency spectra of such fluctuations, over the critical transonic Mach number range, using unsteady Pressure Sensitive Paint
