What is it about?
For airplanes at ground proximity, the wake vortices will interact with the ground and give rise to the complexity of the wake vortex system, which makes its behaviors hard to predict. On each side of the wing, there are co-rotating vortex pairs generated from the tips of the wing and flap, which eventually merge into one single vortex. To investigate the wake vortex behavior in ground effect, the vortex-ground interaction of single vortex and co-rotating vortex pair (with different initial vortex heights was investigated by velocity measurements in a water channel.
