What is it about?
We used a revolutionary imaging system to record the 3D fluid mechanics in the wake of a hemisphere. Almost 1000 samples were gathered and processed, allowing for advance post processing algorithms to be used to examine the most dominant features of the flow.

Why is it important?
Eventually, we would like to expand this research to look about both rough and porous surfaces, similar to a river bed. Additionally, this study represents the first full scale application of plenoptic PIV.
