What is it about?
Structures made up from axially-loaded members (struts and cables) are called tensegrity. They have received significant interest among scientists and engineers because of their light weight, deployability, shape control, and tunable stiffness properties. This paper provides systematic way to design shell-type tensegrity structures like torus, cylinders, paraboloids, spheres, ellipsoids, and so forth.
